here in my room, dreaming of summer vacation...

it's three weeks until SOLs, and that means i'm overwhelmed. let me just say that student teaching first grade, combined with taking a year off, does not prepare one for the dreaded SOLs. for those that don't know, or haven't experienced such joy, SOLs are end of the year standardized tests that kids in va have to take. 3rd grade is the first year they take them, so it's going to be a whopper. so here i am trying to remember all the things i've taught them this year, and find a fun way to review it. yeah, i'm ready for vacation...33 more school days left...
