church search: sunday 2

so yesterday was sunday 2 of the church search; it felt strange not going to church with my family on easter. but, i think i enjoyed being at new life, more than i would have at home. this week i went to the later service, just to see if there was any difference. the only thing i noticed was that there were some more kids my age (probably because they like sleeping in :) one of my favorite parts of the service was a performance given by one of the dance troupes. the song they chose for the performance was "there is power in the blood," an old camp meeting song. needless to say, there was some spontaneous worship going on :) i also enjoyed the message pastor dan gave. he talked about moving our faith from our minds to our hearts, and how difficult that journey actually can be. i couldn't agree more; i think something that christians (myself included!!) often deal with is using our "head knowledge" of Jesus, and transferring that to a living, breathing, heart of flesh, that lives out our faith. i see myself as that person who, if anyone asked me if i claimed Jesus as my savior, i would say yes without hesitation, but i question if you could determine that same faith from my actions/lifestyle. pastor dan explained as going from saying "yes, i'm saved," to shouting "YES, I'M SAVED!!" like you're excited :) thoughts to continue to chew on
